We provide a range of Low Energy LED security lighting which should be one of the most important considerations when lighting and securing your site. Most crimes occur during hours of darkness, and effective illumination can ensure that perpetrators are identified, or better still, prevent the crime from happening in the first place.
Many people consider street lighting to be a suitable solution to fully illuminate a scene for capturing CCTV images at night, but this isn’t the case. Street lighting gives uneven illumination that is not designed for use with a camera, resulting in dark areas and grainy footage with little or no detail.
White Lighting – White lighting provides an obvious visual deterrent to intruders, and creates a safer environment for pedestrians, staff and customers. White light allows for detailed colour CCTV images. Our recommended brand of white site lighting can also be activated by a timer, and with its quick start technology, images are captured immediately, with no time wasted by lamps having to warm up. Motion sensor white lights provide illumination in a cost-effective way.
Infrared Lighting – Infrared lighting is designed solely for use alongside CCTV cameras. If light pollution is a concern, Infrared site lighting is an excellent choice. Wavelengths vary in visibility from overt, which produces a soft red glow at night, to covert, which is invisible to the human eye. Infrared is ideal for longer distances, and is powerful enough to give a crisp, clear black and white image on CCTV footage.
One of the most effective ways for your business to save money is to address site lighting. £1 from every £5 spent throughout the world, is spent on lighting. Throughout the year, lights are an integral part of keeping your site secure, and making areas safer for your workforce and customers.
The majority of energy used by traditional lighting is expelled via heat; which makes them highly inefficient. Take a look at the effect of a lightbulb on a chocolate bunny, compared to an LED lightbulb.
The chart below shows savings that can be made over ten years by upgrading to LED site lighting. Figures shown include the cost of energy consumption, maintenance and bulb replacements.*
