The Directors of Secure Engineering were pleased to attend the excellent, free seminar presented by Kent Fire & Rescue Service, focused on helping businesses to understand the risks of fire, and showing ways to prevent the devastation that it can cause.
Held at Hever Castle Golf Club, this clever event combined business development advice and networking alongside essential fire information. The event included facts on how to implement and maintain a fire management plan, ways to reduce false alarms and all-important fire safety legislation. It covered common sense fire preventative measures, to more complex information to protect businesses.
Managing Director Clifford Corne explains why he found the seminar particularly inspiring; ‘The team at Kent Fire and Rescue Service are really advanced in their thinking about helping SMEs and the economy, whilst improving Fire Safety all in one go. This forward-thinking team realise the importance of getting the fire safety awareness message out to as many businesses as possible and to ensure that that this message remains integral as the small and medium size businesses expand to larger businesses of tomorrow.’
The seminar explained the importance of business resilience and being able to prevent and minimise the effect of fire, using practical advice that does not drain financial resources. This simple, effective advice inevitably results in safer and more resilient business.
Clifford continues; ‘Kent Fire and Rescue Service realised that by inviting SMEs to this event and encouraging them to network, the business owners and managers that attended will also generate opportunities from each other’s interaction and collaboration. This is very smart and very valuable. On top of this we were all presented with the best bacon rolls we could ever remember eating and copious amounts of fresh tea and coffee!’
Secure Engineering has taken steps to implement Kent Fire & Rescue’s excellent advice, and eagerly anticipate their next event.
