Exhibition update – Parkex 2014


Our first visit to Parkex, this show offered a comprehensive view of the latest technology in the area of parking. Led by the British Parking Association, exhibitors were leading experts in their field, and demonstrated some impressive products.

With an opening speech by Robert Goodwill MP, of the Department for Transport, the exhibition clearly highlighted the many ways in which parking technology and security systems can work side by side, and Secure Engineering look forward to the many opportunities that were presented at the show.

VideoBadge The Secure team were particularly interested by technology such as body-worn VideoBadge cameras by Edesix. Another company, Parkeyes demonstrated a system for car parks that illuminates car park routes to show available parking spaces, and can even patch into sat navs to lead vehicles to the floor where spaces are free.

It was great to meet suppliers that we hadn’t met before, such as NAL and Commend; most of our products are procured via phone or email, so it was good to put  faces to names! We also talked to Clearview Communications, who have some clients in common with us, as they work closely with local councils.
