Exhibition update – Facilities Show

Currently in its 15th year, the Facilities Show was a first-time visit for Secure Engineering. Publications, suppliers and experts came together under one roof to provide expert advice and support for those in the industry.

The Facilities Show, which had moved for its debut appearance in London to ExCeL, was part of Protection & Management 2014. It featured an ‘Innovation Trail’, showcasing the most exciting new technology. This made it easier for delegates to spot groundbreaking ideas, by following maps, or the trail of golden balloons around the show. The Keynote Theatre provided an opportunity to get up to speed on new regulations, industry developments, and the seminars throughout the day proved extremely popular.

Innovise saloon stand at IFSECWe loved the quirky stand by Innovise, which had a Wild West theme. Focusing on getting the cowboys out of security and facilities management, visitors were encouraged to report when they spotted a cowboy on the loose, to highlight the importance of trust and reliability. These values fit in well with Secure Engineering, as we pride ourselves on our honesty, value for money and dependability.

Talking with existing customers, such as Megger, and suppliers, such as Screwfix, was a key part of our visit.

We were invited to join the Networking Hub lunch by the team at Facilities Management Journal. Whilst there, we were pleased to meet the Building Futures Group. We also networked with Ad Hoc – a company that provides protection for buildings through occupation

Overall, Secure Engineering found the Facilities Show to be an extremely useful event. We look forward to returning in 2015.
