Thames Water Utilities - Slough Sewage Treatment Works

TWU wanted to positively identify all vehicles entering the Slough site. The obvious way to do this is to achieve good number plate recognition pictures. Secure Engineering recommended the REG camera. This is a very capable camera and IR lamp combination specifically designed and developed to achieve good number plate information under all conditions.

The site is often unmanned so we decided on a suitable digital video recorder. The proposed 320GB unit can accept up to 16 cameras. With the nine planned security cameras the DVR will be able to store images (at the rate of 7 picture per second) for up to 23 days.

A Radio link was used to get the video signal back to the control room avoiding lengthy and difficult cable routes.

Digital video recording eliminates the need for tape management.

REG camera identifies all vehicle registration numbers entering the site day and night.
