A CAMERA boasting the latest in CCTV technology catches images of every car that drives up the road past East Sutton Park women's prison.
However, rather than being part of the prison's security arrangements, the camera belongs to the CCTV company next door.
Secure Engineering is one of the businesses occupying offices in the neighboring farm.
Phil Stewkesbury, director of business and development at Secure Engineering, can show a record of every vehicle that travelled down the lane, which runs past the farm's entrance and the entrance to the prison.
Mr Stewkesbury said everyone had been unaware of what was going on at the prison on Wednesday afternoon.
The last person to leave the farm site had done so at 6.10pm, and other than seeing the officers on the gate, nothing was noted.
One of Mr Stewkesbury's colleagues said she simply thought the prison was holding some sort of open day, adding; "it's not really that odd to see police offices at a prison."
Mr Stewkesbury, who has been based in East Sutton for seven years, said when the company moved in, he tried to sell a CCTV system to the prison, but at the time was told it had no need for such technology.
It is not known what CCTV cover the prison has.
